Sadly, yet another well qualified engineering academic blew through my town and others in Canada and the U.S. of A., lectured on an important and relevant topic then rode off into the sunset. (Ref. 1)
But, if his dismissive comments at the end of his lecture about cost, and his very long, thick list of credentials and awards are any indication – I got tired of reading them and stopped – he’s had no practical field experience. I mean the kind of experience where you “get your hands dirty and mud on your boots” on one geotechnical site investigation after another. (Ref. 2)
