Conventional immune monitoring assays have difficulty detecting rare cells such as circulating chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells or antigen-specific T cells. Standard flow cytometry has a lower limit of detection of 1 in 10,000, which is typically insufficient. Sample pre-treatment using magnetic cell separation can enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection.
